i would probably adventure out to say.. if those 4 accept. They'll split it into divisions.
Jay County, New Castle, Richmond, Muncie Central,Marion and Anderson in 1.
Kokomo, Lafayette Jeff, Harrison, McCutcheon,Logan and Huntington North in the other.
in football you play the 5 teams in your division and play two of the other conference. 1 home, 1 away.

In basketball i'm not sure what they would do.

That's smart and logical. However...

Yeah. They keep living in the past. The conference splitting up into 2 different divisions would work. They could in fact play everyone in basketball or just eventually split the conference into 2 conferences. The North Central Conference is a great basketball conference no doubt but gas mileage is a killer. I think it would be tough for a few teams to find other teams to schedule but driving that far with the way gas prices are... it's just hard to afford, specially with how tough the economic times are. I feel bad for students that would like to go to games but can't because they can't afford to drive to New Castle or Richmond or even parents that have children that play who can't afford it either.

Huntington is still a hike to anywhere but Marion. They need to just join the SAC or NHC, not sure why they havent always been in the NHC but oh well.

I believe I saw on the twitter last night that there will be 2 divisions, based on how they were broke up, I didn't think they were incredibly long drives at all

This is a great thing for Logansport. The three Lafayette schools add three much shorter drives, especially with the new highway connecting Logan and Lafayette.

instead of Huntington North, it will be Marion. 100% they will split up into 2 different divisions with it being : McCutcheon, Harrison, Jeff, Logansport, Marion, and Kokomo. Then the other 6 in a division. Looks like a good move on most angles though

Jay County has tabled the NCC invitation for "more research":  http://www.thestarpress.com/article/20130219/HSSPORTS/302190021/jay-county-high-school-and-North-Central-Conference?nclick_check=1

So NCC currently at 11 teams.
